Earthly Cellulose Microfibril

Original figure: the third figure in www.researchgate.net/publication/328128036_Transmission_e...

(Figure 3 in this article: www.researchgate.net/publication/328128036_Transmission_e...)

Original caption: Effect of objective lens defocus on the contrast of unstained Valonia cellulose microfibrils (a–d) and negatively stained wood nanocrystals (e–h) (images recorded at 200 kV with a digital camera). For images a, b, e and f, the objective lens is underfocused while it is at zero defocus in c and g and overfocused in d and h. The defocus would be considered as optimal (slightly underfocused) for images b and f

Above figure shows cellulose microfibrils of Earth.

In image h, red arrows point to some of the cellulose microfibrils of Earth.

Those microbirls measure around 10 nanometers across.

A scale bar of 100 nanometers is in image e.

That scale bar can be applied to image h,

for images e, f, g, and h show the same material at the same magnification.
