Staff Sgt. Shane Lees, III Corps, Fort Hood, Texas, fights on top of Lt. Matt Volnoski, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, in a bout July 23 at Fort Hood, Texas. Lees defeated Volnoski by a tapout to win the exhibition bout. Lees was guaranteed third in the welterweight division after his original competitor was forced to forfit due to injury.
