Soldiers assigned to every command on Fort Bragg capped off their first official event with a first place finish at the Defender’s Cup
tournament held over the Labor Day weekend at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.
The 22 players who represented Fort Bragg were selected from 86 candidates who showed up for the open tryouts held at Towle
stadium from May 31 through June 2. The players endured three months of demanding physical training and practice sessions in addition
to their regular unit PT sessions. The team left for the 22-hour drive from Fort Bragg to San Antonio on Aug. 31 and arrived back
home on Wednesday. Look for additional coverage on the team in next week’s issue of the Paraglide.
