ORISE Gel® - Sessile serrated lesion - Colon
ORISE Gel® (Boston Scientific) is one of many types of materials designed to be used for submucosal lift of polyps, adenomas, early-stage cancers or other gastrointestinal mucosal lesions prior to excision with a snare or other endoscopic device. It is composed of water, sodium chloride, poloxamer 188 (bulking and structural agent), polyoxyl-15-hydroxystearate (emulsifier), medium-chain-triglycerides (oil component). This solution includes methylene blue to improve visibility of the lesion and submucosal surface. By providing an immediate and long-lasting cushion beneath the polyp and improving the visibility of the lesion, it may help achieve a complete and safe removal of the lesion. Eleview® (Olympus), a similar solution, shows comparable results. If the material remains in the submucosa, after a period of approximately 2 months, a reaction with giant cells is produced, called "Lifting Agent Granuloma"
