Foreign body granulomas in mesenteric lymph node due to fistulizing Crohn’s disease

This is a most unusual case of foreign body granulomas in a mesenteric lymph node of a patient with Crohn’s disease. A fistulous tract connecting the intestine to the lymph node was responsible for intestinal contents entering the lymph node.

Middle image: Suppurative granuloma containing several plant cells.

Right image: Several granulomas; two containing undetermined foreign bodies; possibly skeletal muscle.
