North Queensferry view below the iconic Bridge
The 19th century-built Forth Bridge, opened in 1890 carries railway traffic over the Firth of Forth on the East Coast Main Line and is ranked the World's No.2 Cantilever Bridge but should really be No.1.
Some people mistakenly call the Forth 'Road' Bridge , just to the west , the Forth Bridge , which is wrong and there is no need to put the word 'rail' into the title either.
The bridge gained it's World Heritage Accolade in July 2015
