Engagement 3,700+
2022 - Partially Rebuilt for Creta Cargo Group ( Greece )
Listed as ORION entering service in the Aegean Sea
Calmac Car Ferry 'Saturn' (IMO 7615490) plied the environs of the Firth of Clyde for almost 34 years on several routes. Along with her two half-sisters Juno & Jupiter , there were known as the Clyde Streakers because they were designed with three vehicle ramps each and were also very much faster than the previous generation 'ABC' ferries , giving a faster turnaround at piers and linkspans.
Saturn herself retired into 'mothballs' at the end of August 2011 and stayed static at Rosneath Jetty. Whilst most Clyde maritime watchers thought she would follow her sisters to the cutter's torch , she defied this fate in being purchased by Pentland Ferries Ltd for further use up in Orkney and eventually sailed from the Clyde
Listed as ORCADIA > 2015-2021 ( 6 Years )
2023 - TO WEST AFRICA
After a relatively short time in Greece (2021-2023) she sailed for Lagos Nigeria being Listed as ORION K. arriving there on January 18th 2024
