Escorting the Cunarder Queen Victoria down the Clyde

A memorable evening's cruise onboard the famous Paddle Steamer P.S Waverley was had by all , as she escorted the Cunard Liner MS Queen Victoria down the Firth of Clyde on the 28th July 2010. The communication between the two ships was great , with the big liner blowing her massive horn and the Waverley replying with her lovely sounding steam whistle. Here we see the old ship steaming ahead at about 15 knots to give herself room to turn around and make for her home in Glasgow and stopping off at Greenock Customs House Quay.

2016 - marked the 70th Anniversary of her launch

2017 - marked the Anniversary of her Maiden Voyage

2019 - Withdrawn from service pending new boilers

2020 - She took on Pre-booked passengers only for sailings for two very short weeks before she had a head-on collision with Brodick Harbour ramp with slight injuries to crew and passenegrs onboard. She was quickly withdrawn from service pending an authoritive report. This was enough to put her into an early winter Lay Up in Glasgow
