2018-09-13 [Explored] Backyard video - please watch to the end!
I was fixing dinner last night and glanced out the window just in time to see our at least 8’ long female gator pulling her heavy body up onto a little dike that sticks out from our yard, not more than 75’ from the house. I grabbed my scope and focused on her and started one camera running, but 1000mm was too much to get all 8’ in the frame at that distance, so I aimed a shorter focal length lens at her and filmed with both cameras at the same time. I was both horrified and intrigued at the size of her gullet when she yawned, and hope to never be anywhere near that abyss. I shot this through the window and added some audio that was recorded earlier in the same spot.
