When I popped out of the tunnelbana Sunday morning to shoot in the Haga-Brunnsviken landscape park, I was surprised to see it enshrouded in a dense fog extending from the iced-over lake. I had gone straight into the tube station from my hotel without ever looking outside, and was expecting a sunny morning...
There was hoar-frost clinging to all the vegetation, and even on the surface of the ice floes in the lake, which had refrozen over the bitter cold night before. The fractured and reconstituted floes struck me as looking very similar to the landscape that is eastern Sweden, as seen from the air.
Stockholm can be grey and rather dreary, but it can also be a winter wonderland!
