Andaz 1901 case study
The Global Hyatt Corporation are widely acknowledged as industry leaders in the hospitality sector. We were delighted to have the opportunity to demonstrate our versatility of style, when the prestigious Andaz Hotel (part of the Hyatt group) recently commissioned us to brand their flagship European restaurant 1901.
Located in the heart of London’s Liverpool Street the project called for an artistically aware branding solution that was as deeply considered and beautifully executed as the venue itself.
Combining the ‘casual luxury ‘of the company ethos, with organic designs influenced by nature and the building itself, the results produced represented a tactile and ornate infusion of unique, contradictory and timeless patterns.
Requirements included: New Brand Logo, Stationary, Restaurant Menus and VIP Opening Invites
As a progressive dining experience 1901 needed a theatrical design concept that appealed to all elements of its diverse customer base. Popular with City based business people during the day, the venue also draws an East End fashion and art crowd in the evenings.
By making the focus of the campaign about quality and detailing, Fluid ensured it produced results that were universally attractive, and provided a ‘talking point’ for 1901’s diverse client groups .
Nature was evoked through unusual and highly skilled printing techniques including layering, sculpture embossing and foils. The menu covers had a muted palette and employed a tactile material which is known for it’s ‘curious touch’ ( liked by some, loathed by others!)ensuring the products would get people talking straight away.
In-keeping with the theatrical vision of the concept ,and echoing the layout of the restaurant, five menu inserts were printed with bright effervescent colours, providing a dramatic contrast to the venues white marble surroundings.
Sustainability was an important feature of the project and recycled, biodegradable and chemical free materials were used throughout.
