bow lake sunrise

subtitled: it's early, I haven't had coffee, and my feet are freezing.

I drove up to the Icefields Parkway the other day, hoping to be able to camp at the south end of Bow Lake to make an early morning shoot a bit easier on a not early morning me. Mosquito Creek campground (sounds appealing!) was full, so I wound up staying at Waterfowl Lakes campground about 20 mins north on the IP. Great campground, highly recommend it. Temps dropped to about 5 degrees celcius by morning, so when the alarm went off at 6, I had significant difficulties convincing myself to crawl out of the tent, but it was well worth it, as I discovered.

Spent about an hour at the north end of Bow Lake waiting for the sun to come up over the eastern peaks, the water to go still, and for the clouds to clear off enough to light up this peak, which I think is Crowfoot Mountain. Finally managed to get this one when the world granted me the trifecta.
