Tangles of Life

I'd be lying if I said this wasn't strongly inspired by some of Marc Adamus' dead sage shots. But, I also think I've managed to make it mine. After all, there's no reason we shouldn't take inspiration from others' we admire! I've had my eye on these sorts of bushes in the canyon where I usually go birding for while now. Today I went specifically to look for some cool bushes, and found a couple nice ones. I don't actually know what kind they are.. if you do, let me know! It's likely I'll post some others in the coming weeks.. so I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one. Sometimes I feel the top 1/3rd doesn't belong, but without it it feels too flat and blah.

Also - might as well note, I did not burn/dodge those foreground bushes, or add any unnatural contrast.. they actually did pop out like that all on their own!
