Rolling Thunder - Niagara Falls

View On Black

My view from Prospect Point..Niagara Falls, New York. USA...looking across..........Ahhhh can't get enough!! :) I'm on holiday and took this last week for you all to see yet another view of my favourite spot..Niagara Falls..this shot includes the Canadian Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls including the Bridal Veil Falls.............ENJOY! I've seen the Falls from the American side but never been through the parks to take photos.......awesome to be there on such a beautiful day.

"You can hear it for miles in the middle of the night or as the sun starts to rise above Niagara Falls. It is the timeless rumbling of the falls."

"Familiar as we are with the sound, people living near the falls seldom notice it. But it is one of the loudest continuous noises in the world. Not surprisingly the word "Niagara" was derived from the language of the Neutral Indians who one time lived in the area and when translated means,"thunder of waters"."

"The Niagara Falls are voluminous waterfalls on the Niagara River, straddling the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York. The falls are 17 miles (27 km) north-northwest of Buffalo, New York and 75 miles (120 km) south-southeast of Toronto, Ontario, between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Niagara Falls, New York."

"Niagara Falls is composed of two major sections separated by Goat Island: Horseshoe Falls, the majority of which--two-thirds according to the US Geological Survey--lies on the Canadian side of the border, and American Falls on the American side. The smaller Bridal Veil Falls are also located on the American side, separated from the main falls by Luna Island."

I will be catching up with everyone real soon! :)

Enjoy! Best viewed LARGE.
