Islandbridge Junction

From a passing train, I photographed Irish Rail Metrovick 035, its bright orange livery doing a favour on a dull day.

The lines in the background enable trains to travel between Dublin Heuston and Dublin Connolly when the need arises. It is not a passenger route.

Dominating the background is the Wellington Monument, said to be the tallest obelisk in Europe. It marks the life of the 'Iron Duke', who was born in Dublin in 1769.
