Some work has been done to improve the village but a lot needs to be done. In view of all this recently, a group of these New Yorkers met in Richmond Hill, New York, and discussed the state of affairs of our beloved village Miani and shared their feelings. In the summer of 2007 Master Mohinder Singh came with the idea to do something for village and people of Miani and the was supported by Satwinder Singh Satta, Bawa Rajinder Singh Lalli, Bawa Pritpal Singh, Babu Joginder Singh, Avtar Singh Bubbi and many others. Efforts were made and a meeting was held at Royal Palace in Richmond Hill in New York and a society was formed and called Miani Overseas Welfare Society' thank you
