wheel bug . . . who knew???

I had never seen one of these and it was the coolest thing ever! It did make

me very sad he was eating a honeybee though! I took so many shots of him

that my arm was trembling. I went back later and he was having a yellow

jacket!! Okay, here's your educational material . . . moderately common,

beneficial assassin bug that preys on harmful insects (honeybees???).

They inject a venom that paralyzes and kills their prey within 30 seconds.

Their bite is usually more severe than a wasp or hornet sting. Healing time

varies from two weeks to six months . . . I had my face just inches from him.

They only bite when disturbed and should be avoided or handled with care.
