House overlooking Rhossili Bay

Who wouldn’t like to live in this house overlooking the beautiful Rhossili Bay.

Yesterday Steve and I took a trip down to Rhossili. We ate a healthy, scrumptious brunch in the Bistro and this was a shot I took from the patio area. It was a beautiful, Autumn, sunshine day; hardly a cloud in sight with just the gentlest of breezes.

We never tire of this view. But of course the weather isn’t always like this and when the storms hit the end of the Peninsula and the high tides crash into the Worms Head, the outlook bears no resemblance to this scene. In fact, sometimes there is no view at all when the mists and fog come rolling in.

But this house along with its garden has withstood the worst ordeals that nature has thrown at it – because it is build on bed-rock. I thought of those words which Jesus spoke over 2,000 years ago.

Matthew 7:24-27 (NLT)

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash
