160806-N-LV456-054 YOKOSUKA, Japan (August 6, 2016) – Hundreds of people wait in line for the opportunity to tour USS Curtis Wilbur (DDG 54) and Japan Maritime Self Defense Force’s (JMSDF) JS Enoshima (MSC-604) at Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka’s annual Friendship Day celebration. More than 50,000 people participated in the open base event highlighting the friendship between the U.S. Navy and the host nation of Japan. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, 83 tenant commands, and 24,000 military and civilian personnel.
