"The Empty Quarter - Oman"

Lets get back to the beauty of the desert.

It has had a facination for many western travellers and explorers for nearly 100 years.

The Rub' al Khali (Arabic: الربع الخالي‎ ar-Rubʿ al-Ḫālī  "the empty quarter") or Empty Quarter is the largest sand desert in the world, encompassing most of the southern third of the Arabian Peninsula, including most of Saudi Arabia and areas of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. The desert covers some 650,000 square kilometres (250,000 sq mi) (the area between long. 44°30′ −56°30′E., and lat. 16°30′ −23°00′N).

This photo was taken in Oman near the boarder with Saudi Arabia. Its beauty for me is the pristine look of the sand with its formations shaped by the wind. Some of the dunes can be over 100 meters high.
