shrike kills

One of the predators on flat-tailed horned lizards is the loggerhead shrike (Lanius ludovicianus) which impales prey items. We always search tall creoste bushes for impaled lizards. This is the first time we have seen two heads impaled on the same spike. Our daughter (then 7) found this gruesome sight.
