It is one of the few surviving pieces of the former grand estates which once existed in the downtown core.The future of the building was cast into doubt when the neighboring First Christian Church announced plans to redevelop the entire block. The congregation had bought the house in 1971, and sought to expand parking for its members. The house was temporarily moved to a different location in 2007 while the neighboring property built an under ground parking facility and returned once construction was complete. After that an extensive renovation occurred for Raven & Rose which later opened as a restaurant in the building. .
