Flashlight to Streetlight
Madisonville Cemetery, Madisonville, LA.
In 1975, Doris Martin Holden, a researcher with USGW Archives, discovered many of the graves and vaults in this cemetery are unmarked. Through her detective work she found Henry Baham, Jr. He was born in 1919 and began helping his father take care of the cemetery at age 14; he was able to identify many of the graves and plots that are unmarked. Mr. Baham stated some of the larger plots had as many as 25 family members buried in them. One of the earlier unmarked sites date back to 1800, as mentioned in the historical marker at the entry gate.
