This is the second daughter house of St. Walburg Monastry. This group was founded in 1870 and pioneered by Sister Teresa Timmers, superior, in Sr. Scholastica Hoeveler, first prioress in charge of eight sisters. They became independent in 1873 moving from Covington, KY to New Orleans, LA. Originally named St. Benedict Convent, New Orleans, Louisiana and later moved to Covington, Louisiana and named St. Scholastica Priory. Unfortunately the priory closed in 1998.
