City Excursion Wharf AKA ‘The Paperclip Dock’, Baton Rouge, LA.
The Baton Rouge dock is an interesting structure. It’s decorated on top with giant metal works resembling paper-clips, thus earning its nickname. To accommodate for the rivers massive annual rise and fall (of 40, 50, even 60 feet), the docking structure is four levels tall with a spiral ramp connecting the levels to a top level walkway which leads over to the levee.
