Castle of the Eye II by Minoru Nitzuma
Castle of the Eye II by Minoru Nitzuma, a Japanese artist (1926-1998). Created from marble in 1973, the sculpture is described as stacked blocks in a repeated pattern of square within square on all four sides to create a powerful self contained structure reminiscent of a medieval Japanese castle. It is located in the Robert and Jeri Nims entry plaza of the Bestoff Sculpture Garden at the corner of Victory Ave. & Charles and Betty Turner Way. With it being outside of the garden, it is often overlooked.
