Jackson, MS

Located on the historic Natchez Trace trade route, created by Native Americans and used by European-American settlers, and the Pearl River, the city was named for General Andrew Jackson, to honor his (January 1815) victory at the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812. He was later elected as the seventh President of the United States.
