Through my Lens

The majority of photographers that I know swear by their 50mm. No matter their brand, the 50mm is their go-to lens. Be it for landscapes, or portraits, or anything in between, you'll be hard pressed to find a photographer that doesn't keep that lens handy.
I must admit, in this case, I'm an outlier. I cannot stand my 50mm. I fight with it, we argue and just cannot see eye-to-eye. I may have a dud, the focusing is always off and it's the loudest lens in my bag.
For me? It's my 40mm. I love that lens. It's my go-to, almost always fixated to the body, it's there, my jack of all trades, master of most. I even manage some bird photography with it.
Yup, to me, the 40mm is my best friend. You can keep your 50mm, I've resorted to using it as a prop.
It's really too bad, because I wanted to love the lens. I really did.
Hope everyone has had a good day.
