Massive Fireplace
Inside Lady Slipper Lodge (originally the Kitchen Shelter) at Gooseberry Falls State Park. It was built in 1935 and added on to in 1939 by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).
Notice the huge fireplace on the left. This building, Lakeview Shelter and the Campground Shelter all have these big beasts. They are beautiful examples of CCC masonry.
I believe that this building is used for presentations and may also be the park "church" on Sundays.
Gooseberry Falls State Park is located in Castle Danger, north of Two Harbors, Minnesota on the legendary Minnesota Highway 61 (formerly US 61)..
