Velociraptor?

Nah... Tabitha wanted to sit on my lap.

 

You can see here that a (New World) vulture's foot is much like a chickens. Because of this, they cannot perch/grab like other birds of prey, rather, they can only stand atop branches, fence posts, (or knees, lol), etc. that are wide enough to accommodate their feet. They also do not puncture/tear/kill things with their feet. The foot is primarily used to hold stationary non-living food still, while the beak is the bird's tearing/ripping tool.
