Smithsonian Folklife Festival – University of Maryland Extension and 4-H Youth Development Program
The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is an annual celebration of culture from various regions of the world. It typically attracts more than one million visitors each year. This year, the Festival featured three main programs: Campus and Community: Public and Land-grant Universities and the USDA at 150; Creativity and Crisis: Unfolding The AIDS Memorial Quilt; and Citified: Arts and Creativity East of the Anacostia River. Maryland 4-H members and FirstPic, Inc. volunteers demonstrated their science, engineering, and technology skills and abilities learned through 4-H robotics projects.
