Documenting the Qadri Rafaee Silsila through Nasir Bhai Rafaee Dongri

Ever since I met Nasir bhai in December 2017 and shot the Sandal of Ismail Shah baba Jamli Mohalla near Nul Bazar ,,I have been shooting Ratib art of body piercing an integral aspect of Rafaee Sufi Order .

 

I was invited to Sewri Gate no 6 and shot the ratib here by Nasir bhais team..

 

All of Jan Feb March April 2018 I documented the Qadri Rafaee Silsila visiting Sufi dargah that I had never seen before ..I saw and shot a different world very different from the world I live in..As a photographer shooting all aspects orders of Sufism this was an extension to the kind of events I shot .

 

I shot over 7000 images and over 209 videos of the Qadri Rafaee Order all thanks to Nasr Bhai we share a great relationship....he invites me to some of his Ratib events if I have time I go and shoot it .

 

I have till date shot dargahs that I had never visited before ...

I am not much of a dargah hopper I shoot Makhdhoom Shah Baba and Fakhruddin Shah Baba both at Mahim only during the urus ..since last 25 years .

 

The other dargah I shot was Haji Malang baba ..

 

Sometimes dear friend Shakib Ahmed Siddiqi Mahimi took me to Chandshah Wali baba ..he was one who inroduced me to the Rafaees and the Siddis .

 

He is also the Khadim of Makhdhoom Shah Baba .

 

He re introduced me to Nasir Bhai Rafaee too/
