Following retrieval, the Eye Bank carefully evaluates the tissue and distributes it to a corneal surgeon who will transplant it.

The solution manages referrals, donors, tissues, accounts, contacts, distribution and online surgery scheduling. It creates invoices that QuickBooks distributes. The FileMaker Platform handles employee benefits, including time off, vacation and sick leave. Through FileMaker, Cattell has created multiple reports to assist management to better keep a pulse on the eye bank’s daily operations.
When tissue is procured, FileMaker Go for iPad collects all of the specifics of donor information. This information is then synchronized with a back-end database accessible from Alabama Eye Bank regional offices located in Huntsville, Montgomery and Mobile.
