"often, when an intruder is in the area, the green anole raises its spine, fans its dewlap, and does "push-ups" accompanied by intermittent ultrasonic hisses..." well, i can verify that! i meant to upload this long ago to accompany (www.flickr.com/photos/fidd/8873329841) which i prefer aesthetically, but not in potential humor or color. plus, he didn't have that terrifying dewlap/pushup/hissing thing going on in the other. i simply felt all must bear witness to the fearsome anole who roams three square meters and one water pipe in my backyard!
