Hopes of a sunny evening in York were finally dashed by the formation of thick cloud over patchy sun about 30 minutes before the passage through the city of West Coast Railways' Scarborough Spa Express. In gloomy, sticky conditions, LMS Jubilee 4-6-0 45699 'Galatea' heads 1Z38, the 16.55 return working from Scarborough, past New Earswick. WCRC 'Duff' 47 760, the train engine, was provided owing to perceived fire risk along the route. What an awful combination of liveries - drab, drab and a bit more drab! @17.55
