Temple Newsam House, on the eastern edge of Leeds, from the parterre fountain. The house, part of a 1,500-acre estate and landscaped park, was built between 1500 and 1520 for Thomas Lord Darcy. Sir Arthur Ingram bought the estate for £12,000 in 1622. It has been owned by Leeds City Council since 1922.
