Steps
The former railway station at Pateley Bridge in the Nidderdale National Landscape. Opened in 1862, the station marked the end of a North Eastern Railway branch line - the Nidd Valley - from Harrogate, although there was a connection to the neighbouring Pateley Bridge station on the short-lived Nidd Valley Light Railway (1907-36). The NER station closed to passenger traffic in 1951 and to all traffic in 1964. The station building has been divided into private dwellings, with the former trackbed now a minor road accessing houses and a pay & display, local authority-managed car park.
