Garforth Parish Church captain Michael Fisher plays and misses against Walton Park at Springs Lane during a quarter-final tie in the Fred Fleetwood Cup, the Wetherby Cricket League's premier knockout competition. Fisher hit 73 as the visitors, top of Division One, beat by 112 runs mid-table Second Division Walton Park, who fielded a mixture of first and second XI players.

After Fisher's departure, Garforth Parish Church slipped to 160-9 before Tom Conboy and Darren Childe added a decisive 50 in an impressive unbeaten stand for the last wicket. An early triple strike from pacer Childe then reduced Walton Park to 16-3. No 3 Jonathan Smales, who had earlier taken three wickets, completed a deserved half-century before the hosts ran out of batters.
