Crewe Cut A Dash

Left wing Toby Ward evades Spartans full-back Ryan Devine as he races away to register the first of four Crewe & Nantwich tries in rugby union's Midlands Two West (North) league. Crewe & Nantwich won a second-versus-third promotion battle 27-17, moving 10 points clear of their Sutton Coldfield-based visitors. The hosts trailed 0-10 after 17 minutes at Crewe Vagrants Sports Club, and did not take the lead until first half stoppage time. Spartans closed to within three points, 17-20, with six minutes of normal time remaining but a 78th-minute Toby Russell-Vick try clinched an important victory.
