The Sight Unseen

Derelict lighthouse with no view to the water, keeps on shining in my memories. She gets more hidden each summer, less likely to be noticed by anyone new, long since useless to passing ships. When she was first constructed, the mouth of Bear River still sailed new boats from the docks where they were built. Waiting for the highest tide, navigated out of a narrow channel, then under the railroad trestle. No trains come this way since I was too young to remember, but I still visit this lost little lighthouse. Stuck in the isolated overgrown, there might still be someone digging for secrets. You'll be the rock they pocket, the sight unseen but sought. I'm just as forgotten as you tonight, but here's my offer to remember.
