Our daughter Ella Violet sleeping in her bassinet at night. She usually sleeps with the little glow in the dark wireless night light dude (from TykeLight) but usually he's up on the rim of the bassinet (we had to move him for better lighting). Ella has just about out grown the bassinet and we are going to change it into a larger crib today.

The bassinet is round (a Stokke Sleepi) and the effect is further exaggerated by using a fisheye lens.

I have another version of this photo during the day while she is awake.

Tech Detail: Canon 5D with a 15mm f/2.8 fisheye lens attached, mounted on a Manfrotto 3021BPRO tripod (322RC2 grip ballhead) with the center column in the horizontal position so the camera was in the middle right over the rim of the bassinet. I used a shutter release cable to reduce camera shake when firing the camera.

The focus point was set manually before the lights went out, and I choose a 4 second exposure to give me enough time to draw the heart with a laser pointer, and I was able to get f/5.6 with ISO400. Some minor color tweaking done in Lightroom but this shot looks pretty much as it did out of the camera.

NOTE: This photo made it into Flickr's 'Explore" as one of the top five hundred most interesting photos on a particular day, which makes me somewhat sad as the actual resulting photos didn't make it, ha! You can see all of my photo's that have made it into the Flickr Explore pages here.
