As inspiration for my portrait of Simone, I discovered a portrait of the enigmatic Cesare Gennari called "Alegoría de la Pintura" .It´s an Oil on canvas. 119 x 98 cm. in Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Antica, Roma.
I haven´t found this painting in flickr, even there are some works of this mysterious painter from the XVII century.
I have long wanted to paint an Allegory of Painting. That was an issue during the Baroque painting.Simone Geerligs has been perfect for this purpose.
