"Knock, Knock" ~ Sandsculpture by Attillio 'Steve' Topazio

Title: "Knock, Knock!"

Sandsculptor: Attillio 'Steve' Topazio of Tiverton, RI (USA)

USA 2011 National Sand Sculpting Festival @ Revere Beach in Massachusetts, USA

This year, Steven created a crowd pleaser and kid folks favorite entitled "Knock, Knock!" - a clever sculpture of a lion's head knocker with the hand right in the beast's jaws. Not far away, on the wall behind the bandstand stands the official voting ballot box with the lion's head ingraved on it. I'm not positive that Steve got his inspiration looking at the bronze lion the king, but I'm quite sure that this resemblance would sway some young people's choice votes his way!

As the story goes, nine years ago, Steve was making a dragon in the sand with a clamshell and now he is competing along side the best sand sculptors in the world. This local New Englander loves the energy that surrounds a Masters’ competition, whether it is from the thrill of being up against the best or the crowd that have become just true fans. Steve heads up Sandtasia Sand Sculptors of the Ocean State, a sandsculpting company based in his hometown of Tiverton - RI.
