Shopping trip to Canterbury on a very grumpy day

My fault, whilst measuring up our new house in Beccles I left my trusty old Roberts Sportsman radio earphones hanging out of the car door and then I closed it, cutting the leads in half! Can't survive without Classic FM and BBC Podcasts so I was dropped off in Canterbury as Melanie had a meeting and I decided to splice two walks together to get home again!

The weather was very grumpy, drizzle, sleet, grey, cold and overcast. I bought a new set of earphones, a coffee and a flapjack and made my way to the beginning where all good walks start! For this route it was the Westgate Gardens and the Stour Valley Way. From here the path hugged the Stour to Chartham, a quick detour at Chartham Lakes to Chilham Water Mill and a stop at Badgers Mount for more cofffee and cake then the second part of the walk begins. From Badgers Mount the path follows a public footpath past the new Champagne vinery at New Cut Road, through the old orchards to Perry Wood and then back to Faversham via Boughton-under-Blean and Brenley Farm, onto Macknade Farm shop to by a lovely fresh loaf and some posh butter and jam, then home to a steaming mug of walkers tea, bread and jam and feet up to the sounds of Finzi...........
