Bow River Highway 1A
Since August of last year, we have started taking the 1A highway out of Canmore through to Calgary and back home. Although not very far from the Trans-Canada Highway, it is a much more scenic, almost intimate, drive.
We made it through this area looking for a good vantage point to get a long exposure of a train running through Kananaskis Country. I saw the water and just pulled over.
Through the beauty of long exposure camera tricks, you can't see how blisteringly cold and sharp the wind was. We got some great motion in the water to get it nice and frosty-smooth. I wanted to get as long as an exposure as I could to get the clouds as wispy as possible.
I was also just really happy to get a good view of the turquoise water. I wonder how long it would take for me photographing the turquoise water of western Canada before it loses its appeal. Likely never.
