thank you very much everyone for your comments and participation on the last two shots I posted. Of late I have been looking around to see what other places there are to share photography in a social network environment as I felt Flickr was stagnant. Having looked around I reckon that flickr is still the best although I'm disappointed that they do not continue to evolve. I can't help but feel that one day somebody is going to come up with a real challenger to flickr, which takes what flickr does but moves on, and at that point I think users will abandon flickr in droves. I've looked at Facebook (yuk), I've looked at google+ and it's getting better and if they instigate a couple of more changes to the way it operates then google+ will probably become the place, I've looked at 500px but feel it lacks the social interaction. Basically at the moment google+ is good for social interaction but not for viewing photos and 500px is the exact opposite. Flickr provides both of these at the moment but it's stagnant and I can't help but feel they are happy just to take the money with no interest in continued development. I might be wrong as there have been some changes only just this week and I can only hope flickr is awakening from it's slumber. You all showed what could be done, on those last two photos there was a lot more interaction.... maybe that was because I really emphasised that I wanted it. I know some people might feel reticent about commenting for a multitude of reasons but it really helps no matter your experience, when you actually leave a comment and expand on that comment rather than just faving for example, nice though that is.
Anyway I've rambled on too much now, suffice to say I love flickr and would love it if it were to wake up and develop before it dies.
Surprising I have found that twitter is something that I am likely to develop and use.... and there is a new player too, I'll leave you to figure that one out although I will come back to them in a future post.
