On the bonnie banks...
A beautiful sunset over Loch Lomond last night, and when I phoned home it was still dull and miserable in Edinburgh. So I'm now wondering if it is only Edinburgh that has had rain all summer. My original intention had been to shoot 'the Tree' as I thought all the rain would mean the water levels would be up. So again it makes me think it hasn't been raining anywhere else except Edinburgh. I did discover some useful info as to how they control the water level in the Loch though :o)
A contact on another forum asked if I did lessons, I don't but I said I was happy to go out and pass on what knowledge I could, so Karen came along with me. I hope she picked up some useful tips. She isn't on flickr yet but I'm trying to persuade her to come over someday. Thanks for the company Karen.
And another thing, we came across the weirdest thing..... in the chip shot in Balloch, the fish suppers are the cheapest thing on the menu.... what's that all about, any chip shop I've been in, the fish suppers are the most expensive.... are all the west cost chippies like that?

This was taken with my Pentax stock lens as I was letting Karen borrow my 77mm nd400 that I use on my Sigma 10-20mm (my standard lens), I've got a second nd400 for the stock lens. As the old pier was some distance out it worked fine as I wasn't getting as up close and personal to my photographic subject as I normally would. Quite pleased with the result.
