I'm the flying dog

Yuki, Swedish white elkhound.

Hunting spitz, not recognised by the FCI

The Svensk vit älghund (Swedish White Elkhound) was not recognised by the Swedish KC until 1998 although the breed goes back to a litter born in 1942. The breed is an exeptionally good hunting dog mainly for elk but also for bear and lynx. The type is like the Jämthund both regarding size and proportions. Body rectangular and harmonious, lithe and with good reach of neck. The tail should be high set and carried in a loose curve over the back. The colour is white, but a shade of light yellow is tolerated. Ideal height at withers for males is 56 cm (22 inches), and for females it is 53 cm (21 inches).
