Solitude. 117/365

Day off work today so up early doors, got Riley ready and packed off to nursery and hit the road.

Another spot from my new book, The photographers guide to the Peak District.

This is Bolehill Quarry which lies at the top of Padley Gorge. Such a gorgeous place and not another sole in sight or sound in earshot.

Took various shots but there was something missing, there wasn't much in the way of foreground interest so in I went.

Converted to mono and a sizeable crop. I also toned down the exposure of the scene then lightened myself and the end of the pathway with a radial filter.

I'll definitely be back here again. Hopefully before sunrise and with a sizeable portion of mist as that would be perfection.

This is number 117 of my 365.
