Fuji X-E1, Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4 R by Fujifilm - Pimp my Camera
Recently got a Fuji X-E1 and I'm so happy with it so far:
Here are some early shots:

I've pimped it up a bit :)
Artist and Artisan red leather wrist strap
Match Technical Red Dragon Black Beep soft release
Joby GorillaPod Micro 800 Tripod (folds completely flat against the base)
Taped over the front XE-1 logo with black electrical tape (I think it's a beautiful camera but I'd have preferred Fujifilm to leave the logo of the front as they did with the X-100 and X-Pro1, my attempted de-badging looks better in the flesh but the diffused light in the light box and Macro lens emphasise it in this shot)
Strobist:
DIY light box from corrugated plastic and blue foam backdrop, similar to this:

Strobist:
Sony Alpha a900 on aperture Priority
HVL-20AM optically triggering:
HVL-58AM from left through a 40x40cm Chinese made soft box.
HVL-43AM above camera, inside light box angled at 45 degrees to put a bit of fill on camera but mainly lighting backdrop
Color Efex Pro and Adobe Lightroom 4 used for editing.
I got very excited with the mirrorless cameras at Photokina and thought I'd go for the Sony Alpha NEX-6 but really wanted the Cybershot RX-1 but this came to market first in Jakarta and I jumped at it :)
I'm very happy, I have some small gripes, I think the AF light is too close to the hand grip and the way I hold it with a shutter release obscures it. I keep moving the exposure compensation by accident and have lost some shots. The focusing is significantly improved from the X-100 but it hunts in low light (I'm comparing to a full frame DSLR in the a900 and not other cameras in the class), Manual focus is actually usable however. My biggest gripe is the time it takes before you can take the next shot, it's better than the Panasonic GF3 and Fuji's X100 but not close to bigger DSLR's.
The files are gorgeous though, I think they capture more detail than the (ageing) A900,maybe due to no low pass / anti aliasing filter. The low light performance is astonishing compared to anything else I've used. The built in fill flash is stunning, as with the x-100. It's a joy to hold and much smaller than the x-pro 1. It's a similar size to the x100 but the 35mm lens protrudes further, looking forward to the Fujifilm XF 27mm F2.8 Pancake coming out in 2013. A couple of people have asked what it is and someone asked if it was a Leica :)
The Fujinon XF 35mm f/1.4 R is superb. It's compact, sharp (even wide open) and snappy, There is subject separation although not as much as I expected, I use Sigma's 50mm and 85mm f/1.4 on full frame and probably didn't appreciate the difference the FF sensor made. I love the 50mm focal length (equivalent), it's perfect for me, I'd have got a Sigma DP2M if I could have found one before this purchase but I'm chuffed with this..
I'm loving this camera and considering selling my alpha kit with image quality as my main driver, I like big cameras, I love my a900, I love Sony's Alpha system... so I'm thinking of investing in the XF mount because of image quality, specifically detail.... hmmm...
Would love to hear your thoughts.
